Florence "Bobbie" Arnett (Montgomery)
Florence "Bobbie " Robina Arnett was born in Melfort on July 2, 1934 to Raymond and Velma Montgomery. She lived with her parents on the family farm at Pleasantdale until she was three. Her family then moved to Melfort.
Bobbie started Grade One at Broadway School and continued there until Grade Five. Her parents then moved back to Pleasantdale to take over the family farm. Bobbie attended school in Pleasantdale until she graduated in 1952. In 1954 Bobbie attended teachers college in Saskatoon. During her teaching career she taught at Violetdale, Leviathan, Naicam and Pleasantdale.
On July 8, 1955 Bobbie married Bob Arnett. They had three children Rae, Tracy and Doug. They lived on the farm east of Pleasantdale until 2000 at which time they moved to Melfort.
After she retired from teaching in 1990 Bobbie worked for Kinistin First Nations in an advisory position until she moved to Melfort.
Bobbie became ill a few years ago but it wasn't until 2015 she was diagnosed with a very rare disease called Multiple System Atrophy. As the disease progressed Bobbie moved to Chateau Providence in St. Brieux in July of 2017. In October of 2017 she moved to Parkland where she spent the reminder of her days. She passed away peacefully December 2, 2017.
Bobbie leaves to mourn her husband of 63 years Bob, daughter Tracy (Neil) and her children Joey (Coralee), Stacey (Derek ), son Doug (Melody) their children Brendon (Denaye), Ashley, Brittany, son-in-law Robert Cross (Bonnie) and his children Lynn, Marni (Wes), sister Joan Lowe (Merve), sister Patty (Gary), sister-in-law Shirley Montgomery, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her daughter Rae Cross, grandson Robert Shane Cross, parents Raymond and Velma Montgomery, brother Guy Montgomery and in-laws Ted and Thelma Arnett.
